National Unity Party (UBP) Nicosia District organized an awareness walk with the theme of “Let's Stand Up to Cancer” in cooperation with UBP Women's Branches and Cancer Patients Aid Association. During the walk, brochures promoting the “Self-Check” QR code application were distributed

According to the statement made by UBP, the awareness walk was organized under the auspices of Prime Minister Ünal Üstel's wife Zerrin Üstel, and Prime Minister Ünal Üstel also participated in the event before the walk and expressed his support.
In her speech at the event, Zerrin Üstel emphasized the importance of the event organized to raise awareness about breast cancer and said, “I would like to thank our women's branches, Nicosia district and the women who participated in the event. Let's all participate in such events and feel and make awareness felt.”.
Raziye Kocaismail, President of the Cancer Patients' Aid Association, pointed out that the meaning of the event was great and the theme was very strong.

Kocaismail stated that the distribution of the brochures prepared by the Cyprus Health Tourism Council with the slogan “If you notice early, it makes a big difference” in Turkish and English, which includes the promotion of the “Self-Check” QR code application that everyone can examine themselves, added a special importance to the day.
UBP Nicosia District President Ahmet Savaşan stated that they organized this walk with all women's branches representatives to draw attention to early diagnosis.
Savaşan noted that with the information brochures prepared in Turkish and English, it is aimed to explain that early diagnosis saves lives not only for those living in Cyprus but also for everyone who is in Cyprus for any reason.

Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, who gave a brief statement to the press before the march, thanked UBP Women's Branches, UBP Nicosia District and Cancer Patients' Aid Association and emphasized the importance of such events organized to raise awareness in health.
Prime Minister Üstel said, “When we look at the world today, we see that the number of cancer types, especially breast cancer, is increasing every day. I would like to thank everyone who worked hard to organize this important event in order to raise awareness of our people, our women.”.
